About Us

peopleoverpapers.net is an independent guide to People Over Papers, the volunteer-run map where people share sightings of immigration enforcement in the United States. We explain what the project is, where its official map lives, how to read crowd-sourced reports, and how to stay safe while using them.

What we are, and what we are not

  • We are an explainer site that links to the official People Over Papers map at iceout.org.
  • We are not the People Over Papers project, PPF, or any government agency.
  • We do not run a map, collect sighting reports, or ask for anyone’s personal information.

Editorial policy

Every factual claim on this site is checked against the project’s official channels (its verified Linktree, website and social accounts) or reputable news coverage, and we link to the source where the fact appears.

  • Sources first. We prefer official channels and established news outlets over forums and social posts.
  • Dated checks. Pages show when they were last updated, and we re-check fast-changing facts, like where the map is hosted, regularly.
  • No guesses as facts. Where something is unconfirmed, we say so.
  • Corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the date.
  • Not legal advice. For your own situation, talk to a licensed immigration attorney or an accredited legal aid group.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help research and draft pages. A person reviews every page, checks the facts against the linked sources, and decides what is published.
